    Description:
Horse artillery was normally positioned where it had freedom of movement in any direction. Its primary task was to open a breach in the enemy lines through which both infantry and cavalry could break through.

When the enemy advanced in line, the horse artillery fired on the flanks to cause the maximum possible damage on the deployment of troops. A combined attack using infantry, artillery and cavalry was extremely effective.

When cavalry threatened, the enemy infantry formed squares which then became an easy target for artillery that was well protected in its turn, by its own infantry.

Why they do not offer the figure in 75 mm scale, which has become more and more standard in Europe, remains a mystery to me!

Hopefully I can pick one of these up at Euro, interesting that Andrea are now investing in 3D sculpting and Printing.

    It looks really life-like.
Is that the actual figure? The Officer looks almost real.
    I think it’s beautiful.

That is a 3D Digital art promo not the actual figure.
The parts are in the black and white pics.
What confuses me is...there is a hand shown cast as part of his right thigh....but is also cast on his right arm!....

In 90 mm it would be perfect for me....but sadly the price will not allow.

Yes, it is the actual 3D painted figure . We will share the acrylics/oils painted figure soon.

(picture edited of the legs part from 1:18 scale)

The portrait of the Officer was taken from a real one:

Well spotted Ron, the 2nd set of pictures shows the right arm with no hand, the hand being on the thigh, I'm sure it will be fine when the kit is finalised.

The mistake was in the picture, not in the kit. The picture is also edited now.

I am no expert in Napoleonics but that figure is a thing of beauty.

Question - Could this figure be painted as a Line Chasseur officer (the elegant uniform to my untrained eye looks remarkably similar) or is the uniform exclusive to the Horse Artillery G.I. ? If it could be painted as a Chasseur, I would probably buy it as being an oils painter, I always end up with 'gloss' blue but can handle green much better; so it's a bit of a shame if not. Thanks for any answers or clarity in response.

Thank you for the comment. You are right the uniform is very similar but there is small differences between the Chasseur and the Artillerie.

Andrea Europe - Thanks for the reply. The more I look at it, the more I think ..."I must learn to paint with blue" ! Congratulations on a piece which I am sure will become a 'Classic'.

Bit unfair on Bonapartes Mike, Most 90mm mounted kits are around £160 and the Post Militaire is a classic. It is also more like 100/110mm and a large chunk of metal-Good value in my opinion.
